Jan Fennell Recommended Associate Dog Listener

I have owned dogs all my life and worked with them for over 25 years. Throughout this time I have lived and worked with German Shepherds in obedience and agility. I have also owned Cocker Spaniels and Rottweilers. I show the Rottweilers and am a breeder, breeding for sound temperament.

Like everyone I have had my share of problem dogs. I have been dragged down the road with a dog pulling me along on the lead. I had problems with excessive barking and destruction in the house, and more.

I worked as a dog trainer, working in the old traditional methods. Endless walking round in circles, lots of sits, stays and recalls. Dogs were no problem in class but none of this helped the problems at home. Dogs were forced or frightened into obeying our commands.
I am not proud of this and I was always searching for a kinder, non confrontational way to work with dogs. Training Dogs should have been by allowing the dog to work with you by his own choice.

For 3 years I took puppy classes and worked with a trainer who was open minded. I adapted the classes to teach the puppies without force, we worked on a reward basis and positive re-inforcement.

Purely by fate, I went to stay with a friend for a few days, I found on her book shelf a book called 'The Dog Listener' written by Jan Fennell. Once I started reading I could not put it down. This was what I had been looking for. A way to train your dog without fear, force, stress or any use of gadgets. This was the way forward, working with Amichien Bonding. When I came home I put the method into action with my dogs. Within days I saw a huge change. I knew I had to look into this further, I needed complete understanding for this to work 100%.

I applied to go on to Jan's foundation course run by Jan Fennell and Tony Knight her son. This was completed successfully and Jan invited me to go on to take the Advanced course. I completed the course and was delighted to be awarded the advanced certificate in Canine Communication.

I am now proud to a Recommended Dog Listener teaching Amichien Bonding to owners, helping them to develop a bond with their dogs, assisting them to overcome the problems they are having with their dogs and to live in harmony with their best friend.
